The algorithm (praise be unto it) has recently alerted me to the work of the American composer John Luther Adams. This is music that glimpses what comes after the human-centered age—the music of Uncivilization. The sonic harbinger of the Enlightened Dark Age now hopefully upon us.
Beatiful! Sounds like something I'd been looking for for a while. Usually ambient is cold and synthetic, and orchestral music pompous, or too brainy or busy. This is calm and landscape-like, but very warm and soothing.
Once read an interview where a man who grew up amongst desert dwellers in the North of Africa said that for them the desert is not dead but full of life. This sounds like that.
Nanda- I am glad you liked it. I think John Luther Adams is really on to something deep. And he taps into something deep. I think he portends something good, but likely difficult. A glimpse of what the other side of this, the machine, might be like. It's here now, already. -Jack
I don't know why there aren't *more* books like that. It is surprisingly difficult to find good books on this topic. Maybe music is just hard to put into words. Thank God for that.

Yes, it's always here!
By the way, I came across a book called 'Sonic Theology: Hinduism and Sacred Sound'. How amazing is that?

Thank you for the introduction
